Concerto chimes do not have any wooden components - the top, the 5
chimes and the wind catcher are of aluminium which have a UV-resistant
powder-coating to give a satin black finish. The striker is of a black
polymer which produces soft tones upon contact with the chimes.
Both ends of the chimes have been bevelled to produce shiny silver edges which contrast attractively with the black.
The cord from which each tubes hangs is attached to a device seated
within each tube rather than passing through a pair of holes drilled
into the tube walls: this construction, combined with the 1.7 mm
thickness of the metal, allows the metal to resonate for longer. It is
also aesthetically pleasing.
The wind catcher is circular, curved to catch the breeze.
The chime has a robust 'S' hook, also finished in black, for ease of hanging.
Packed in an attractive presentation box.
