This chime is tuned to the opening minor chord of the adagio
movement from the Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquín Rodrigo, one of the
most significant Spanish composers of the twentieth century.
The 6 silver aluminium tubes are unusually proportioned; there is
a huge difference in the length of the longest and the shortest chime,
which creates some lovely melodies - listen to its mellow sounds and
think of magnolias, birdsong and fountains - guaranteed to transport you
to a state of total relaxation!
Threaded on rot-proof black nylon line which is protected from excessive
chafing by plastic grommets seated within the holes in the chimes where
the line passes through; the wooden components are of ash with a teak finish.
